Activation offensive in Favoriten: We are looking for users from the fields of art, culture, creative industries and social affairs for a vacant building with around 1,000 m2 of space and a ground floor premises with around 230 m2.
There are two vacancies in Favoriten: “Spaces looking for users”. The City of Vienna’s Building and Facility Management Department (MA34) and Wiener Wohnen, in cooperation with Kreative Räume Wien and WieNeu+, are looking for interested parties for vacant premises in the 10th district between Keplerplatz, Matzleinsdorfer Platz and Südtiroler Platz.
Which premises are involved?
The office building at Van-der-Nüll-Gasse 20 used to serve as a consultancy and administration building. It is characterized by a small-scale spatial structure, and a possible use for workspaces or studios is obvious. We are looking for interested parties who would like to rent the entire building – or parts of it – on a temporary basis for two years.
Not far away is the Dampfgasse residential complex, a municipal building from 1970. The premises of a former health insurance customer service center on the ground floor can be rented on a long-term or temporary basis. The premises are accessible from the street via a separate entrance (Leebgasse), and some rooms border the leafy inner courtyard.
Both properties are owned by the City of Vienna (Building and Facility Management (MA34) / Wiener Wohnen). The call to find suitable users was set up by Kreative Räume Wien in cooperation with the Department of Technical Urban Renewal (MA 25)/ WieNeu+ and Special Projects program group.

Project area WieNeu+ Favoriten
The building and the ground floor premises are located in the WieNeu+ project area. The urban renewal program started in Favoriten in 2021. This includes the area between Landgutgasse and Inzersdorfer Straße and between Triester Straße and Laxenburger Straße. Around 35,000 people live here.
With WieNeu+, innovative solutions are tested in the project area as pilot projects that serve as role models for the entire city. In these areas, the City of Vienna is working together with local stakeholders and residents to prepare the neighborhoods for the challenges of the future with innovative projects.
Ideas budget: WieNeu+ has its own ideas budget, the Grätzlmarie, for ideas that can make the WieNeu+ district fit for the climate or the future. Funding can be applied for as part of the activation process.
