The green oasis in front of our office is blossoming and we are moving some of our meetings outside. The book exchange box is being diligently used for vacation reading, summer is definitely here, the heat wave continues, but there is still no standstill in the area of creative interim use and projects.
There is now more space in new containers at Wild im West, the Semmelweisklinik art and culture association is celebrating a summer party at the end of July and a new project is in the starting blocks. But first things first.

Looking for space? The cultural space or “Wanderoase Wild im West” in Neu Marx is expanding. In addition to the open space, new containers can now also be used. This also provides indoor space for the implementation of project ideas, club work, events or offices in the fields of art and culture, greening or similar.

RaumCoop: Research project for shared spaces
As part of the FFG-funded research project Stadtkern_PLUS, the association RaumCoop – Kooperative für geteilte Raumnutzung was founded. The idea: to develop a non-profit sharing model for spaces. Short-term and affordable for anyone who always needs a space. Kreative Räume Wien is supporting the development of the project.

Go there: Clinic under palm trees
On Friday, July 26, the summer festival will take place for the second time at the Semmelweisklinik interim use in the 18th district, initiated and supported by Kreative Räume Wien. The art and culture association has been using the historic building on the site of the former women’s clinic for two years now. Outdoors, indoors, open doors – on this day there is a lot to experience in and around the Semmelweisklinik.

Content Vienna: Competition for digital design by the Vienna Business Agency
Looking for support with the implementation of creative digital projects in the areas of extended reality, AI, blockchain/web 3.0, animation or games? With the Content Vienna competition, the Vienna Business Agency supports media and creative professionals in the development of their digital projects. The five winners will receive production support of 10,000 euros each, and there are also special prizes for projects with a focus on digital expertise and prizes for participation in South by Southwest (SXSW) 2025.

New spaces: A new project is being developed in Arsenalstrasse next to the main railway station. The HOIV – Home of Innovation building consists of a hall for creative people and events, as well as an office building for start-ups and artists in residency. It will soon be ready for use.

Call: F23 awards studios to students in the 23rd district
Students and graduates of art colleges can apply for Artist in Residence at F23 until the end of August. The two-storey studio (atelier.zwei) is 89 m² in size and up to 6 m high. The studio is heated with district heating – the costs are covered by F23.
